Sodex Innovations raises €4M to make real-time site intelligence the default for construction and mining operations

July 14, 2026 - 2 min read

Accurate data from construction or mining sites has always required machines to be stopped, but by the time the data is available, work on the site will have progressed. This means that project managers have to make scheduling and budget decisions based on figures that may already be out of date. In this sector, a lack of synchronisation between the current state of a site and teams' awareness of its state directly impacts operational costs.

Sodex Innovations, an Austrian start-up co-founded by Ralf Pfefferkorn, Bernhard Gantner and Raphael Ott, has developed a platform that collects and analyses this data during normal operations. Laser scanning hardware is mounted on existing construction and mining machinery, transforming excavators and other heavy equipment into continuous data collectors while they work. Terrain changes and material movements, as well as site progress, are recorded in real time without interrupting production. This data is fed into the SDX-Cloud platform, which aggregates machine scan data alongside drone feeds and imported survey files to produce 3D terrain models, stockpile volume calculations and quantity documentation.

Sodex Innovations has recently closed a €4 million funding round, led by Capmont Technology and with participation from new investors Bloomhaus, Look AI Ventures and Superangels, as well as follow-on investment from SOSV, OMA and 12 Rounds Capital. The capital will support international expansion and platform development.
