Dutch AI platform ScoutinScience has secured €1 million in Seed funding led by 819 Capital Partners, as the company expands its mission to double global technology transfer output within five years through AI-powered research discovery.

Founded in 2020 by Gilles Meijer in Holten, Netherlands, ScoutinScience addresses a critical challenge in the innovation ecosystem: 80% of groundbreaking university research goes overlooked, never reaching its commercial or societal potential. The company's journey began with a pilot program at a Netherlands-based university and has since expanded across Europe, serving over 22 organizations in 8 countries.

ScoutinScience's SiS-AI platform has already scraped over 225,400 scientific papers, using advanced AI to identify hidden research gems with high business potential. The platform serves universities, governmental agencies, and investors by systematically evaluating research outputs for technology transfer opportunities, helping bridge the critical gap between academic innovation and market application.

The company's growth has been remarkable, extending reach across Europe with collaborations in Ireland, Germany, Slovenia, and beyond. With advisors including Prof. Dr. Maarten Steinbuch (TU Eindhoven), serial entrepreneur Alain le Loux, and former Dutch parliamentarian Anne-Wil Lucas, ScoutinScience is well-positioned to transform how the world discovers and commercializes breakthrough research. The latest funding will accelerate expansion into new European markets and enhance platform capabilities.
