Mign building vertical agentic AI for construction compliance

April 23, 2026 - 2 min read

The building permit review process is a significant bottleneck in the construction industry. All projects require approval, which involves evaluating plans against building codes, local regulations, and site-specific constraints. This process relies heavily on specialists and is increasingly affected by workforce shortages as the sector ages.

Mign (based in Japan and founded in 2022) is led by CEO Masahiro Taima and develops a vertical agentic AI platform built exclusively for the real estate and construction sector. The platform comprises three modules:

  1. mign agent review: cross-references uploaded architectural drawings against customisable checklists to assess compliance with building standards and company-specific criteria. It produces auditable outputs with referenced evidence.
  2. mign agent legal check: automatically compiles applicable laws, regulations, ordinances, and guidelines for a given site and project.
  3. mign agent image: supports the generation and revision of architectural visualisations using AI.

In April 2026, MIGN raised ¥230 million (approximately $1.5 million) in a pre-series A funding round led by Angel Bridge, with participation from the Chiba Dojo Fund, and follow-on investment from existing investors Samurai Incubate and Animal Spirits. The capital will fund the further development of the agentic AI platform and the expansion of the core team.
