JUPUS secures €13M Series A to automate law firm operations

June 24, 2026 - 2 min read

Law firms are struggling to keep up with an endless backlog of administrative tasks, often lacking a dedicated support team to help them. New cases require meticulous intake protocols before any legal strategy can be developed, and documents must be thoroughly reviewed and organised. In smaller and mid-sized practices, the shortage of support staff means that lawyers typically bear the full brunt of these operational burdens.

To address this bottleneck, German start-up JUPUS has developed an AI-powered platform designed to manage this core workload. According to the company, the software operates across three specialised modules:

  1. Telefon-KI Marie: a 24/7 AI voice assistant that answers incoming calls, vets prospective clients and organises call details into structured data.
  2. KI-Sekretariat: A digital reception tool that handles client onboarding, schedules appointments, manages eSignatures, and automatically creates case files - all while syncing directly with existing practice management systems.
  3. Dokumenten-KI: An intelligent document processor that analyses files and generates draft briefs, leveraging a database trained on over one million German court rulings.

Built specifically for the legal sector, the platform fully complies with strict European and German regulations, including DSGVO (GDPR), BRAO, and §203 StGB (the German Criminal Code's confidentiality mandate).

JUPUS has just closed a €13 million Series A round, led by Semapa Next and with participation from the NRW.BANK through its NRW.Venture fund, as well as from existing investors Acton Capital and High-Tech Gründerfonds. The capital will support further platform development and expansion across Europe.
