Identifying where and why a manufacturing line is losing efficiency remains a major challenge for most factory managers. Traditional tracking methods, such as manual stopwatch timing or disconnected software spreadsheets, fail to capture ongoing operational patterns, meaning the root causes of waste remain hidden.
Berlin-based startup Almetra (formerly Deltia) bridges this information gap. The company provides an intelligence platform that tracks assembly floor activity without forcing factories to completely overhaul their current IT systems. The startup gives operational teams total visibility into their manufacturing lines to eliminate wasted time. The system works by placing smart AI cameras above assembly lines to track work processes, instantly anonymising the video on the device to protect worker privacy. Key metrics such as cycle times and machine idle periods are extracted and blended with the factory's existing software to create one central dashboard. An intelligent software layer then analyses this data to pinpoint the exact source of any slowdown, providing management with a prioritised list of fixes. As privacy is built in, the platform is fully GDPR-compliant and meets strict European labour union standards.
Almetra has secured €16.3 million in a Series A investment round. The funding was led by blisce/, with participation from NAP, Merantix Capital, Robin Capital, Underline, Critical Ventures, and various angel investors. The company plans to use the new capital to enhance its software capabilities, expand its operations into the United States, and develop automated robotics features for industrial manufacturing floors.
