After dropping out of Stanford University, Altman co-founded Loopt in 2005, a location-based social networking app. Loopt was one of the first companies funded by Y Combinator, marking the beginning of Altman’s career in tech entrepreneurship. Following Loopt, Altman went on to serve as the president of Y Combinator, where he played a key role in accelerating the growth of many successful startups, including Airbnb, Dropbox, and Stripe.
